The William Ris Gallery is pleased topresent “North Fork Narratives”, a solo exhibition featuring the works of Anthony Russell, opening on Saturday, July 12 with a reception from 4 to 7 PM.
Inspired by the rural charm and rich character of the North Fork of Long Island, Anthony’s latest body of work captures the unique spirit of this celebrated 30-mile stretch. From weathered barns and sprawling vineyards to the iconic carousel in Greenport and the historic boatyards, Anthony offers a fresh, imaginative lens on the familiar landmarks and coastal vistas that define the East End.
In addition to his dynamic landscapes, “North Fork Narratives” includes a series of intimate still life paintings. These thoughtfully composed tablescapes, featuring antiques, collected artifacts, and nostalgic mementos, reflect the artist’s fascination with storytelling through object and place.
As both a travel destination and home to a vibrant year-round community, the North Fork serves as a rich source of inspiration for Anthony Russell’s artistic exploration of memory, heritage, and the passage of time. Join us at William Ris Gallery to celebrate this evocative tribute to the people, places and enduring charm of the North Fork.
Show ends August 10th.
